Long before I ever knew where my path in journalism and public speaking would lead, I knew of the name Shep Hyken. Simply put, he has been at this longer than anyone in the business. Since the early 1980′s to be exact. Besides being a New York Times and Wall Street Journal “best selling” author, he has also been inducted into the National Speakers Association “Hall of Fame”.
What I admire most about Mr. Hyken is how he has solely dedicated himself to customer service, with little deviation. You see, many of today’s educational leaders state their expertise as; marketing, advertising, networking, team building, leadership, motivational etc., etc., etc. This is not necessarily a bad thing, if you do it well. But I have always been of the mind that when you apply concentrated focus to one particular field of study – your expertise in that area will shine even brighter. This is precisely what Shep Hyken has done and this is why I strive so much to follow in his footsteps.
“I had the pleasure of reading Larry’s latest book – Customer Service A to Z. I found it to be filled with common sense and practical ideas that could be put to use by just about anybody in any job! Great job, Larry and thank you for sharing your work with me!” – Shep Hyken / Author & Customer Service Expert
Shep Hyken has truly set the bar so high in the field of customer service training that his expertise can never be rivaled. I just hope that my small and continuing contribution will do him proud as I follow my passion to help others achieve greater success in this field. I am so grateful for his endorsement. Thank you, Shep!
